:)my hubby n i made a short trip to samal island las friday.from davao city, it took us only 20 mins (including boat ride) goin to blu jaz resort in samal. Much as we wud lyk to explore d other dive sites, we only dove the house reef of blue jaz coz we nid to rush as hubby stil has to make a courtesy call aftr lunch n we'd b leavng d nxt day. we jus had one dive (para lang masbing nagdive sa samal...hahaha).our dive was relaxing although in d mid of our dive we experiencd a strong current dat made us swim harder.instead of goin against it, we made a u turn and drifted n lang.basically, d dive site was sandy with minimal corals.in terms of marine life, konti lang...coz hinuhuli daw ng mga tao dun as food.(bad!)...so true coz ang daming buslo (baskets) undr d sea n der wer fishes insyd...as in malaking mga lapulapu.i wantd 2 destroy d baskets n set d fshes free kaya lng mahrap na...we saw an eel (hiding behind a rock, nakadagan cya sa starfish...weird), a baracuda,a sea snake lots of starfish(as n daming variety), a "butete","nemos", lots of sea urchins (as in sobrang dami na nakakakilabot) and odr fishes dat i dunno d names...i was compelled to practice good buoyancy coz' if not i'll get stinged by sea urchins coz everywhere u go, der wer groups of dem (eew!) so a lil negative wud hurt u. over all, i'll rate d site 6. Syang kasi, feeling ko before maraming marine life dun,d lng naprotect...sigh.

d resort is blue jaz resort. we coordinated with frank rasmussen, a padi instructor and operator of davao scuba dive center. contact details: (082) 226-2588 www.davaoscubadive.comre gears: we didnt bring our bc, reg and fins, so we just rented from them (part of the package). others, we brought na. rates: (with dive guide , gears and tanks) 2 shore dives - P/2500 per head boat dive - P/5,000.00 per head, i think its 2 dives lang (please check baka mali ako) ...we jus had one dive so, supposedly 1500 charge, pero syempre, i used my charms..haha!! ;D...so we were given a discount, P/ 1200 na lang...plus free tshirt...o ha... re gears: our bc was ok, but my regulator free flowed, so i had to use my octopus. sa resort, wala masyadong gears. frank just brought two sets, so pag may sira, sorry na lang . i think their equipment is at there main office at davao city proper. so better tlaga dala gears kaya lang mabgat sa eroplano...anyway, sayang, kng la ka lang sakit nun, magkakasama tyo. anyway, may nxt tym naman ...c u soon...
