Hi there. Please find time to read this article about ocean-friendly eating. The article is titled, "A Sea Life Lover's Guide to Sea Food". It shows what marine life is safe and not safe to eat on the basis of how it was caught, how it was farmed, is it on the endangered list, or is it prone to heavy metals deposits. It is very informative. A downloadable pocket-sized guide is available on the same article. www.smithsonianmag.com/specialsections/ecocenter/seafood.htmlI hope we have the same for the Philippines, if not for Asia. Enjoy! Happy reading and happy eating. If the above link does not work, click on this microsite.smithsonianmag.com/content/ecocenter/oceans/

Hi guys! I posted this on another diver forum and one of the divers sent me this link. This is BFAR's list of endangered species. And yes, the giant clam is included. This is probably the closest to the "Ocean-Friendly Eating" article I posted above, a few months back. bfar.da.gov.ph/infocorner/endangered.htmSorry, the pictures are not working. Just run the site again. I hope you find this useful. Let's watch what we eat, ok... conservation-wise, I mean. Happy diving and happy eating always!
